hall2The hall has recently undergone a major refurbishment. The original, smaller section was built in the late 1880’s as a workingmen’s club but also became used as a reading room as books surrounded the inner walls. A “prefab” kitchen, which has since been removed, was added to provide local school dinners. The larger hall was built in 1952, at a cost of £3,000 (funded by family purchases of bricks for 5p or 1/-), to commemorate those who died in the Second World War.

The Memorial Hall is available to hire for parties, functions and club meetings, etc.
