The hall has recently undergone a major refurbishment. The original, smaller section was built in the late 1880’s as a workingmen’s club but also became used as a reading room as books surrounded the inner walls. A “prefab” kitchen, which has since been removed, was added to provide local school dinners. The larger hall was built in 1952, at a cost of £3,000 (funded by family purchases of bricks for 5p or 1/-), to commemorate those who died in the Second World War.
The Memorial Hall is available to hire for parties, functions and club meetings, etc.
All rates include modern, fully equipped kitchen and heating. Please contact the Secretary, Mrs Nora Doré,
